The ones who enjoyed the Opening Ceremony of the Olympics probably gonna watch the Closing Ceremony. And those who didn’t enjoy it too gonna watch it simply to say that they actually watch it/ or to compare with the Closing Ceremonies of the previous Olympics & criticize it.
Anyways there’s only few more days left for the Closing Ceremony, which is a sad thing to those who spend the whole day watching it.
But it isn’t the end of the Olympics…
The Closing ceremony celebrates the victories of the athletes at London 2012, including the hand over from one host city to the next. London will hand over to Rio de Janeiro, the next host city of the Olympics in 2016. And it also features the extinguishing of the Olympic flame, signaling the end of the Games.
The Officials revealed that the Closing Ceremony will be titled “A Symphony of British Music”, to celebrate the fact that music has been one of the British’s strongest cultural exports over the last 50 years. It proves an opportunity to view “the artistic expression of Artistic Director Kim Gavin, his team and the culture of the host city and UK”.
The worldwide broadcast of the Ceremony will start at 9 pm on the 12th of August (London time) and it features more than 4,100 performers, including 3,500 adult volunteers and 380 schoolchildren from the six east London Host Boroughs.
There are so many rumors going on about who will be performing in the closing night. Some say that the Spice Girls will reunite to perform in the Closing Ceremony. Victoria Beckham tweeted a picture of a diamond-encrusted microphone along with the caption: “Look what I found!! X vb”, which fostered that rumor. And Dean Piper also tweeted “So the Spice Girls are all together rehersing for the Olympics RIGHT NOW in London”. But no one has officially confirmed it.
One Direction was spotted rehearsing for the closing Ceremony. The Sun newspaper in UK claimed that they will perform their hit What Makes you Beautiful.
Yesterday Telegraph posed an article that include a list of artists who could be in the closing ceremony (not official): Ray Davies of the kinks, Paul McCartney, the Spice girls, Adele, Liam Gallagher, Take That, Muse (performing the Official Olympic Song), George Michael, Queen, Elton John, the Rolling Stones and One Direction.
Anyways, whoever is performing in the Closing Ceremony, it’ll be epic!!
